Profile of De Niro by Tarantino

Good stuff on DeNiro. I loved him as the young Vito Corleone, in The Deer Hunter, and Raging Bull. Johnny Boy was a completely wacko guy.

But one of my favorite things that he did during that time was The Last Tycoon.

Thanks, Mim. I was looking for an excuse to post these vids, because they really are great, and then you came along with ideas about Taxi Driver. Woo hoo!

You gotta love Tarantino's unwavering excitement for film. He's a smart kid, too. I didn't hear anything I disagreed with.

I think De Niro has drifted somewhat out of our collective memory, and it's good to be reminded just how great he really was as an actor. He's still great, but most kids probably know him as that scary stepfather in "Meet the Parents," ya know? Sadly, I don't think there's hardly any great material out there right now for someone of his stature. Posting this feels like a call to arms! You people should be writing great pieces of art so that men like De Niro can still showcase their abilities! Are you with me?

Hehehe...
